Experimental Technique

Over the past week I had been trying to come up with ideas for this assignment. Ultimately, a lot of the ideas I had initially thought up involved purchasing different types of supplies. I decided to hunt through my own house, and find some interesting things to experiment with. What I came up with was fairly simple, but I think the result is quite interesting.





















































































The first 3 photos were done with dish soap poured over top of a glass bowl. The camera I used was a very low quality digital camera, but managed to capture some interesting compositions, and organic shapes. The flash of the camera overexposed the images giving it a really blown out look. I could even see using these textures as backgrounds for some projects in the future.













The last 3 photos are candle wax that was poured onto a piece of paper. I tried to choose some different colored candles that I had. I really enjoyed pushing myself to work outside of the computer. I'm hoping to continue to practice finding different techniques that I can break outside of the box (computer).
